Join the front of house team at one of the premier restaurants for fine dining in the Salt Lake Valley. Table X is a 4x James Beard nominated business, that has been open nearly 10 years serving a unique tasting menu experience like no other restaurant offers in Utah.

The Front of House Captain is a lead server position at Table X that would work closely with the Chef/Owner/GM to assist in supervising the front of house team, keeping them on track for service, and overall helping to maintain our high standard while taking care of our guests.

Pre-Service:

• Check reservation notes / requests pertinent to service.
• Check in and coordinate with GM /FOH Admin on service notes.
• Check with FOH Admin on printing tasting menus for the day / other printed materials needed.

Service:

• This role will take a smaller server section with emphasis on assisting and backing up other FOH staff like running food, making drinks, wine service assistance when needed, helping hosts, fielding questions and requests when applicable.
• Working with GM to keep support staff on track and assisting with service.
• Training new staff members with Owner/Chef/GM. (when necessary)

Post Service:

• Receipt capturing / entering tips.
• Insure all closing duties are performed by FOH staff and dining room is in order before they leave.
• Checking to make sure Alcohol areas like bar, coolers are locked.
• Alcohol tracking / organization. (along with GM)
• Communicate notes for next day.

*THE ABOVE ARE TASKS THAT WILL ACCUMULATE OVER TIME, THIS POSITION WILL BE TRAINED AND ACCLIMATED TO ALL OF OUR STANDARDS & PROCEDURES AT TABLE X PRIOR TO MANAGEMENT/OWNERSHIP EXPECTING YOU TO DO EVERYTHING LISTED ABOVE.

• At least 5 years in restaurant style hospitality / serving.
• Intermediate to advanced wine & spirits background & knowledge of basic drinks and bartending.
• Customer service skills and a general sense of high end hospitality.
• Organizational skills & overall cleanliness are very important at Table X. Both in your work and personal presentation.
• Utah alcohol service certification required.
• Must be able to pass a Utah DABS background check.
