Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Snowbird is situated in the middle of the Wasatch Mountain Range and is not only home to awe-inspiring views and mighty terrain, it is also home to employees equally as remarkable. Snowbird is a unique resort with distinct summer and winter seasons and offers full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

TITLE: Janitor - Public Areas Attendant
LOCATION: Village Services
STATUS: Full-time, Year-round, Hourly
SCHEDULE:
  • Full-time
  • Specific Shift: 7am to 3:30pm or 3pm-12:00am, depending on business levels.
  • Weekends and holidays are required.
SUMMARY
As a Janitor at Snowbird in Building Services, you will maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the Snowbird Center and surrounding areas.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas of the Snowbird Center, all restroom facilities, and surrounding areas.
  • Empty and clean all trash and recycle bins.
  • Report any maintenance issues to management.
  • Clean and scrub floors within the building.
  • Operate carpet cleaning machine.
  • Occasional snow removal outside.
  • Complete daily checklist for the building.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 0-6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • No certifications needed for this position.
  • Must become familiar with all cleaning products that are used.
  • Must operate various types of cleaning equipment including vacuums and floor scrubbers.
  • Familiarity with all MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) information.
  • Must complete daily checklists and turn in to management.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Specific Shift: 7am to 3:30pm or 3pm-12:00am, depending on business levels.
  • Weekends and holidays are required.
  • Year-round position.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary, on occasional times of road closures.
  • May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp, push, pull and perform repetitive motions.
  • Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and other extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be able to traverse through snow and on ice to access work areas.
  • Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
  • Occasional contact with guests.
  • Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, and other departments.
  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
