We are seeking a medical office staff to work in a family practice clinic with mental health and substance abuse specialty. The office staff provides outstanding support to physicians and healthcare providers while providing exceptional care to patients and customers within the clinical scope of a Medical Assistant (MA) / office staff. The office staff ensures that patients are welcomed in a warm and friendly manner and sees that their needs and expectations are met. MA's are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter.
This job is for a medical office staff in a busy family medicine and mental health clinic. This is an entry level position involves working in the clinic including back and front desk helping check in patients, completing insurance reviews, completing vital signs and have the opportunity for cross training for the front and back of the clinic in both billing and insurance management and learning skills to mentoring by the family, practice position and psychiatric providers. We provide full training and this is an excellent opportunity for advancement and to learn new skills in the exciting area of healthcare with on the job training to learn medical assisting duties and skills for the right candidate. The office staff provides outstanding support to physicians and healthcare providers while providing exceptional care to patients and customers within the clinical scope of duties. The staff member ensures that patients are welcomed in a warm and friendly manner. Office staff are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in a fast paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience.
Coordinates with clinic staff to ensure a positive patient flow, waiting room, and exam room experience
Prepares patients to be seen by physicians,
Collects vital signs and testing as required by the healthcare provider Assists provider with collection, documentation, processing, and verification of information related to patient care in an EMR system.
Performs diagnostic tests and processes and enters results Communicates patient concerns and needs to the healthcare provider
Provides timely responses to patient inquiries and timely completion of assigned tasks
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email, as well as ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
Minimum Requirements: This position requests High School diploma or GED equivalent although will consider the right candidate if completing high school at this time.
Preferred Qualifications: One or more years experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting is a deal, but not necessary for the right candidate
One or more years of demonstrated customer service experience
Experience working with an EMR system
Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful but not necessary
Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
