Job Description

Bowen Fabrication Welder/Fitters fit and weld components together to ensure accurate welds that do not change the measurements of the component and will be able to withstand various types of steam, hot water, gases, lubrication, and industrial processing systems. Pay is based on ability and experience.

Responsibilities

Arrive on time and ready to work at the beginning of their shift.

Responsible for fitting and welding of steel, aluminum and stainless-steel parts, and completing any tasks assigned the Shop Manager.

Set up welding machines based on the job

Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific requirements

Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators

Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.

Cooperate with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency

Follow company policies and procedures at all times, including safety, start, and cleanup policies.

Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks emphasis on safety and quality standards

Responsible for coordination of welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with the observed condition of bead through caused by welder

Responsible for holding bead to specified shape, size and penetrations while maintaining the quality of the product

Operates all equipment in a safe manner, including checking fluid levels on machines.

Lays out, marks, prepares, and fits materials to be assembled or welded, including type of weld.

Makes templates as required

Gets parts checked before and after welding

Understands and operates the crane safely

Performs material handling, including loading and unloading trucks as necessary

Takes inventory when required

Works safely and independently without constant supervision

Maintain continuous improved practices in work area

Any other task as might be assigned from time to time by the Shop Manager

 

Qualifications

The ability to read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)

Must be able to read a blueprint and hold 1/16th tolerances

          Must be able to pass applicable weld tests during employment

          Must be able to work independently and stay on task.

Lift and carry materials weighting up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift items weighting more than 50 pounds with assistance

Must understand the function and be able to work safely

Eye-hand coordination is critical

Must be able to read and understand plans and prints and interpret welding symbols.
