The Town of Lyman is set in the Bridger Valley in Southwest Wyoming. It is a short distance from the Uinta Mountains, where you can hunt, fish, camp, mountain bike, ride ATV's and hike. It is a small community of approximately 2300 population inside of the town limits with approximately 6000 population in Bridger Valley.
Lyman School district provides a great environment and quality education. It is a great place to raise a family and enjoy the small rural lifestyle.
Salt Lake City is only an hour and half away with the cities of Evanston being a 35 mile drive and Green River a 45 mile drive.
Currently the Lyman Police Department is made up of 4 patrol officers, 1 animal control/codes enforcement, 1 records clerk and the Chief of Police.
The Town of Lyman has a new competitive pay scale along with great benefits. A new officer with no experience will start out at $30.23 an hour ($62,891 annual). The medical benefits include full medical coverage (Dental and Vision included) to include family valued at $25,818. Two fully paid life insurance policies and full retirement valued at approximately $12,000. These wages and benefits are valued around $100,000.
Lateral transfer pay ranges start from $31.00 an hour ($64,463) to $38.70 an hour ($80,505) depending on qualifications. The overall top pay for a police officer is $95,696.
