Candidates must have the highest level of confidentiality and discretion, independent judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, critical thinking skills, be able to manage multiple matters, meet required work deadlines, have excellent writing and communication skills, and be a team player. Great interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, temperament, and stability are essential. Familiarity with EU GDPR or other relevant data privacy experience is highly preferred. A bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate is required.
If selected, the candidate would support Kirton McConkie's clients in complying with domestic and foreign data privacy laws, including by responding to data subject access requests; coordinating privacy notices (including translations); assisting with data breach notifications; preparing documentation for data transfer agreements, transfer impact assessments, and privacy impact assessments; reviewing privacy provisions in contracts; reviewing surveys and forms collecting client data; tracking changes in privacy laws worldwide and corresponding client advice; and assisting with other privacy-related legal documents. Paralegals would also be expected to assist with other matters in the firm in addition to data privacy work.
