A hospice nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who provides care to patients who are terminally ill or injured in the final stages of their lives. Their primary responsibility is to ensure patients are comfortable and receive compassionate care. • Monitoring vital signs: Regularly check a patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration rate 
• Administering medication: Ensure patients receive the correct medication, in the correct amount, and at the correct time 
• Managing pain and symptoms: Help patients feel comfortable by managing pain and other symptoms 
• Providing psychosocial support: Offer emotional, mental, and social support to patients and their families 
• Educating family caregivers: Keep patients and their families informed about what to expect and how to care for them 
• Advocating for patients: Represent the needs of patients and their families to other medical professionals 
• Collaborating with specialists: Work with other specialists to provide the best care for patients 
• Updating patient records: Keep accurate records of a patient's condition and care
