Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, highly skilled, and successful senior maintenance technician. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, The Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily machine repairs, set- ups, and troubleshooting including filling and packaging equipment. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

Responsibilities

Intermediate to Advanced Level

  • Understanding Mechanical/ Electrical Motors, Servos, PLC’s, Sensors, Actuators etc.
  • Understanding of Progressive and Preventative Maintenance. 
  • Experience in all aspects of mechanical and electromechanical repairs.
  • Must be able to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communication with coworkers daily by telephone, email and in person. 
  • Computer skills using MS Office products. 
  • Forklift Certified required (the company provides training); 
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Discretion to handle confidential information.
  • Demonstrate Companies’ core values and work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods.

 

Job Specific Duties

  • Troubleshooting Tube Filling Equipment, Inline and rotary filling equipment, labelers, conveyors, capping equipment. PD pumps, Diaphragm Pumps, CIJ Printers and all equipment pertaining to the manufacturing process.
  • Diagnosis, repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, contractors, motor starters etc. as needed.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspection, adjustments, and calibrations.
  • Use exceptional problem-solving skills to make quick and effective decisions.
  • Able to design and fabricate small repair parts.
  • Responsible for preventative and predictive maintenance activities on a weekly and daily basis.
  • Maintain and update Down-Time Tracker and predictive and preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Notify Production of extended repairs or downtime.
  • Ensure work order and preventative maintenance documentation processes are in place and administered.
  • Provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production areas.
  • Create and secure a safe work environment.
  • Proactively maintain a safe working environment focused on prevention and ensuring continued compliance with OSHA regulations and Company GMP policies. 
  • Participates in plant health, safety and environment programs.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager. 

 

Qualifications

Education 

  • High School Diploma
  • Technical Trade Schooling or degree in an engineering field a plus.

  Years of Experience

  • 7+ years maintenance experience, preferably as the lead in a manufacturing setting.
  • 2-5 year of Norden Machinery experience.


License or Certificate:

  • HAZCOM
  • Fall protection Training
  • Possession of an appropriate Forklift operator training.

Working Conditions 

  • Work may involve some exposure such as extreme temperatures, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises. 
  • Work environment requires use of PPE.
