Job Description

Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District (JVWCD) is searching for a qualified General Legal Counsel to join its organization. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree; be licensed to practice law in the State of Utah with the Utah State Bar; have at least ten years applicable experience such as litigation, procurement and contract, and real property law; and have a thorough understanding of legal processes and procedures. The successful applicant will perform a variety of legal tasks and assist JVWCD in resolving both simple and complex legal issues related to all services provided and work performed by JVWCD, a regional drinking water supply agency. Applicants must possess excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to work within a team management concept. A good understanding of Utah water law and a background of experience dealing with water-related issues is preferred.
