This Estate Planning and Corporate Legal Assistant position enhances the effectiveness of the attorneys in the group by performing a variety of tasks and duties such as drafting correspondence and legal documents; managing calendars for meetings; maintaining electronic files in the firm's document management system; and maintaining hardcopy client files. Confidentiality of proprietary information is a must.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Estate Planning and Corporate Legal Assistant, you will be in our Salt Lake City, UT office, maintaining client files, drafting legal documents such as wills, trusts, certificates of trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, tangible property lists, corporate formation and transaction documents, including operating and acquisition agreements. You'll file corporate and regulatory paperwork, and coordinate meetings. Additional responsibilities include notarizing and recording documents, managing legal pleadings, assisting with tax return preparation, and handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing, and client communication.

With your strong organizational skills and attention to detail, you will organize, file, and maintain physical and electronic files. Proofread draft documents. You will use your ability to both follow instructions, and to think and work independently.

Although your job is primarily administrative, it is also very people-oriented and focused on providing exceptional internal and external customer service. Always willing to help, you respond in a timely manner to attorneys and clients. You are a team player and contribute to the success of not only the attorneys and clients but also your co-workers and the firm.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Are you proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment? If so, and you meet the qualifications below, you might be a perfect fit for our open Estate Planning and Corporate Legal Assistant.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of Adobe
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to keep and maintain confidential information regarding clients and firm issues
  • Ability to quickly grasp firm specific software
  • Proficient typist, 70+ words a minute
  • 3+ years working as an estate planning and/or corporate legal assistant
  • Two-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Notary license in the state of Utah; or ability to obtain
