Job Description

**This position will begin Spring/Summer 2025.**

 

Industrial Hygiene Intern Summary

This is a temporary skilled position involving the support of operations personnel in safely providing materials. It will consist primarily of conducting industrial health sampling at multiple locations in Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Industrial Health Sampling to evaluate potential worker exposure to noise and irrespirable silica.
  • Support employees in safely providing the preferred source to customers.
  • Assist in our companies Naturally occurring Asbestos Program.
  • Knowledgeable/Familiar with MSHA/OSHA standards.
  • Conduct on-site safety inspections.
  • Provide detailed reports and assistance to operations supervisors.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.   • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to do complex math and apply logical analysis to complex issues.
  • Must have a working knowledge of/be proficient in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook.
  • Standard Driver’s License and reliable vehicle are required.

 

Education/Experience

  • Preference is given to completed courses in Industrial Hygiene sampling methods and exposure routes.
  • One to two years of college courses in the related field.
  • One to two years of previous related experience/training in the field is a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 25 lbs. Physical agilities test may be required. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
