Spend your summer in the stunning Island Park, Idaho, as a caretaker for the Rexburg Boat Club on Bills Island! This seasonal, full-time position is perfect for a retired couple looking for an active, engaging opportunity. In addition to a fully furnished cabin, utilities, and internet, you’ll receive a small compensation package. (Camp host experience is a plus.)

Responsibilities:

On-Site Presence:

• Be on-site 24/7 and available to handle any issues that arise. If time off is required, coordinate with a club member to cover responsibilities.

Security & Property Management:

• Conduct routine rounds to ensure member cabins and property are secure.
• Ensure public restrooms remain clean and well-stocked.
• Enforce club rules and manage any issues with members and guests.

Maintenance & Grounds Upkeep:

• Oversee the upkeep of the grounds by cleaning brush, mowing the lawn (using the provided riding mower), and keeping the property neat.
• Manage the trash pickup truck and dump at the landfill (note: the pickup truck features an automatic dump bed).

Dock & Boat Management:

• Monitor and adjust docks based on reservoir water levels using a cable system.
• Ensure boats are safe and secure, notifying owners of any issues.
• Maintain and adjust dock walkways as needed.
• Monitor the docks to ensure they remain in good repair

Fuel Coordination:

• Keep track of transactions related to fuel sales in a ledger and provide the information to the Club Secretary monthly for billing purposes. (If a member opts to pay by check, the funds will be forwarded to the Secretary for deposit.)
• Coordinate the refueling of our fuel inventory.

Reservation Management:

• Keep track of reservations for the camper parking lot and assist members as needed.

Emergency & Community Involvement:

• Learn and follow Bills Island fire emergency procedures.
• Assist with the organization and support of the island’s 4th of July Parade.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Availability: Must be able to live on-site 24/7 and handle emergencies or routine tasks as required.
• Skills: Basic handyman abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to interact effectively with club members.
• Experience: Previous camp host or similar experience is a bonus.
• Adaptability: Comfortable coordinating various tasks—from security rounds and grounds maintenance to fuel coordination and reservation management—using provided equipment such as a riding lawn mower, golf cart, and dump pickup truck.
