We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team and oversee our myriad transactions and help with critical financial decisions and corrections. You’ll do this in a variety of ways including research, audits, data input, reporting, analysis, and tracking. You will be responsible for assisting with tax preparation, reconciling balance sheets, helping with departmental and organizational budgets, financial forecasting, communicating findings with stakeholders, and more.

Responsibilities

No two days will be the same. Here’s what your week will look like:

  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Provide technical support and advice to management
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budgets according to schedule
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Have fun!

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or general ledger functions
  • Associates degree in Accounting or Business, or equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Familiarity with NNN leases a bonus
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Experience with accounting software, user and administratinon skills i.e. Quickbooks
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with tenants, investors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Solution oriented thinking with a positive mindset and attitude!
