Now Hiring: Wire Cable & Harness Assembler (Entry-Level & Experienced)

Location: North Salt Lake City

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Job Summary

Salt Lake Cable & Harness, Inc. is seeking Wire Cable & Harness Assemblers at both entry-level and experienced levels to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to engineering specifications. Whether you are new to the industry or have years of experience, we provide on-the-job training and career advancement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to build wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wires using hand tools and automated equipment.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure assemblies meet specifications and industry standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620).
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective or improperly assembled harnesses (for experienced candidates).
  • Operate testing equipment to verify electrical continuity and performance.
  • Train and mentor entry-level assemblers on best practices (for experienced candidates).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.

Qualifications

Entry-Level Candidates:

  • No prior experience necessary – training will be provided!
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to use hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company.

Experienced Candidates:

  • 2-5 years of experience in wire harness and cable assembly preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, crimpers, soldering irons, and testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards preferred.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with hands and small tools.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to various materials and equipment.
