Job Description

Archer Mechanical is seeking a full-time Plumbing Service Technician to join our growing team within our maintenance department! 

We are seeking talented plumbers at all levels of experience to join our team. Whether you are an apprentice looking to start your career, a journeyman looking for a new opportunity or a master plumber with years of experience, we welcome your application.

As a Plumbing Service Technician, you will have the chance to work on a variety of projects and gain valuable experience in the field. Your responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in commercial and industrial settings, as well as conducting regular inspections and maintenance to ensure proper functioning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems, including pipes, drains, water heaters, and sewage systems.
  • Identify plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, low water pressure, or malfunctioning systems.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing systems to diagnose problems using various diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Install, replace, or repair plumbing fixtures, including faucets, sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
  • Install and repair pipes, drains, and sewer systems.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to repair or replace damaged plumbing systems and components.
  • Perform regular maintenance to ensure plumbing systems are functioning correctly, such as clearing blockages, checking for leaks, and inspecting water pressure.
  • Flush water heaters and clean drains to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Communicate with customers to understand their plumbing issues and provide solutions.
  • Offer guidance on maintenance to prevent future plumbing problems.
  • Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all plumbing services performed, including parts used and time spent.
  • Recommend upgrades or replacements of old or inefficient plumbing systems to improve performance
  • Respond to urgent plumbing issues, such as burst pipes, sewage backups, or water leaks, often requiring quick action.
  • Maintain detailed records of services rendered, materials used, and any follow-up required.
  • Work with other technicians or contractors on larger projects such as construction or renovation jobs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for the purchase of materials or parts required for repairs.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest plumbing technology, tools, and industry best practices.
  • Attend training or certification programs to improve skills and knowledge.


Qualifications

Must hold a valid Utah Driver’s License

• Plumbing Mechanical, HVAC, Experience is required

• Experience with cabling and draining is preferred or willing to learn 

• Ability to work as a team and successfully collaborate to complete a given task promptly

• Safety-minded individual

• Job coordination on and off-site

• Attend weekly safety meetings

• Ability to read project plans and diagrams and follow building code along with project specs

• Proficiently working independently and/or on teams in construction and plumbing trades

• A valid plumbing license
