The Utah State Bar is seeking a qualified expert to serve as Director of Information Technology. The Utah State Bar is a not-for-profit corporation that licenses lawyers in the state of Utah and performs regulatory, public, and member services under rules promulgated by the Utah Supreme Court.
Responsible for the maintenance, strategic planning, development, and implementation of the Bar’s IT infrastructure and systems, including a member management database, two case management databases, data management programs, and systems related to security of the building. Supervise IT staff, manage IT budgets, and ensure the security and reliability of technology systems. When needed, develop and implement new IT systems or procedures in a timely and efficient manner. Project management skills are required.
Responsibilities:
• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the IT strategic plan, aligning IT initiatives with the company's overall business objectives.
• Team Leadership: Supervise the IT Systems Administrator, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
• Security Management: Develop and implement robust security policies and procedures to protect our data and systems from cyber threats.
• Project Management: Manage IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and contractors.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Staying Current: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Communication: Effectively communicate IT matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with experience in managing IT infrastructure, security, and projects.
• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage budgets and projects. Technical expertise in areas such as networking, security, and cloud computing.
• Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, CompTIA) are a plus.
• Location: Must be able to work in our Salt Lake City office.
The Salary range begins at $140,000 annually depending on skills and experience. Excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vacation, sick leave and a 401(k).
