Job Title: Head Teacher for In-Home Daycare - Canny Kids
Location: Sandy, UT
Job Type: Part-time; 20-25 hours a week
Salary: Earn an hourly wage, Negotiable depending on experience

Canny Kids is a unique in-home daycare offering flexible childcare for children aged 4 months to 11 years. We strive to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, loved, and engaged. Our focus is on meeting the individual needs of every child while fostering positive social and emotional development. We believe in providing a home-like setting where children thrive, and our team members are dedicated to supporting their growth in every aspect.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Circle Time: Engage children in structured group activities, introducing educational themes, songs, and games that promote learning and social interaction.
• Plan & Facilitate Activities: Organize and lead a variety of activities, including arts, crafts, sensory play, and educational games that are appropriate for various age groups.
• Foster Social Skills: Help children navigate social situations in a positive, win-win manner. Encourage sharing, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.
• Provide Nurturing Care: Be a supportive presence, offering emotional and physical care for children, ensuring their well-being throughout the day.
• Reading & Storytelling: Read books and stories that spark curiosity and imagination, while developing early literacy skills.
• Communication with Parents: Maintain open and clear communication with parents regarding their child’s progress, needs, and daily experiences.
• Maintain a Safe & Clean Environment: Ensure that the daycare space is clean, safe, and organized, adhering to health and safety standards.
Requirements:
• Experience: Proven experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or other child-focused setting. Experience leading educational and recreational activities such as circle time, art, crafts, and social play is a must.
• Passion for Childcare: A heart for nurturing and caring for young children with a strong desire to support their growth and development.
• Dependability: Must be reliable, punctual, and able to commit to flexible scheduling.
• Health & Well-Being: Must be in good health and able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, playing, and lifting as needed.
• Positive Attitude: Ability to foster a warm, positive, and engaging environment where children feel secure and valued.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with children, parents, and team members.
• Education: A degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not required. Or experience caring for young children.
