Glass Production Technician
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Technicians to join our team. As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to production and manufacturing processes. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of a well-known and established Glass Manufacturing and Fabrication company.
This role is part of an expansion of Tacoma Glass Manufacturing under the name of Utah Glass Manufacturing. You will be part of a company with 5 locations and a part of the new fabrication operation in Utah. Utah Glass follows the philosophy of Safety, Quality, and High Touch Local Service to our customers.
Job Description Summary
As part of the Utah Glass team, you will have the opportunity to be your very best each day, have the tools you need and understand clear goals. Your day can be full of various parts of the entire glass fabricating process. Our products/processes include things like, insulated glass units, tempering glass, fabricated glass, mirrors, stock glass and custom laminated glass. We believe in respect for individuals, ensuring customers receive the very best service and seeking ways to improve each day. A key success factor in this role is a positive “can do” attitude. This role will also require the ability to collaborate with coworkers in our close plant environment.
Responsibilities
Primary daily tasks include:
Performing glass fabrication duties to fulfill individual orders to customers specifications.
Fabrication includes: Cutting, seaming, polishing, shaping, tempering, loading, loading/unloading, insulating etc.
Operate and maintain production machinery and equipment
Set up and adjust machines for production runs
Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and quality
Perform routine maintenance on machines to prevent breakdowns
Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of parts
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Completion of production schedules and fabrication orders on time each day
Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed as part of the Utah Glass Team
Requirements
Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude for troubleshooting machinery
Customer Service mindset and a passion to serve them by meeting their needs
Enjoy being a part of and helping to create a cohesive team
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Ability to communicate effectively with co- workers in a positive forwarding manner to enable accurate and timely outcomes
Ability to read/write instructions and follow directions
Be on time each day and perform production functions as outlined and trained
Have the desire to continually improve each day to become the very best in what we do in each part of our process
Glass or building industry experience is a plus
