Automotive M.D. is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Service Advisor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, service writing/estimate experience, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the initiative to lead service operations. This role is critical in driving the growth of our service department while maintaining the highest standards in customer service. We are seeking a personable advisor who will greet customers, listen to concerns, diagnose requests, schedule appointments, estimate costs, conduct inspections, test drive cars, and act as the liaison between our customers and service technicians. • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and the service department, ensuring clear communication and understanding regarding repair detail, service outcomes, scheduling and processing payments.
• Utilize proprietary software systems and diagnostic scans to accurately bid service jobs, manage client service records, and workflow.
• Consult with mechanics regarding necessary repairs and possible alternatives to expensive repairs.
• Maintain positive customer relationships to ensure repeat business including timely updates and post-repair follow-up.
• Develop, maintain, and improve service processes, applying knowledge and best practices from previous roles.
• Work closely with technicians and management to ensure timely and accurate service.
• Take ownership of customer service initiatives from scheduling service appointments to managing customer follow-ups.
• Lead efforts to improve efficiency and service standards in the department, contributing ideas to streamline operations.
• Grow and manage business including but not limited to job distribution, accounts payable/receivable, ordering parts, managing any inventory, promotion and marketing of the business, other duties as needed.
• Help keep repair shop clean and organized.

• 3+ years of experience in a Service Advisor role with a variety of vehicle makes and models. 
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to understand and explain complex automotive repairs and diagnostics. Automotive and engine repair experience or auto mechanic training preferred.
• Technological aptitude to learn and use diagnostic equipment, software programs and basic computer programs.
• Proven experience in taking initiative, leading projects, and improving service processes in previous roles.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and proactively, without needing constant direction.
• Proficient with automotive software systems (TekMetric, Altus, Mitchell, CCC1, DMS, service scheduling, etc.)
• Can-do attitude.
• Hold a valid driver license.
• Must read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.
• May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs.
