Job Description:

We are on the lookout for a dedicated and proactive woodworking employee who is ready to take initiative and play a key role in our shop. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, driven to improve, and will thrive in a collaborative environment. If you're someone who loves working with your hands and has a strong understanding of math and construction fractions, we want you! Compensation ranges from $20 to $25 per hour, based on prior experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain woodworking machinery: Learn and effectively run the machines in our shop, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
• Math & Measurements: Accurately measure and cut materials, with a solid understanding of construction fractions and general math skills.
• Leadership and Collaboration: Work independently when needed and also direct and assist other team members to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
• Problem Solving & Initiative: Take the lead on tasks, troubleshoot problems, and suggest improvements for workflow and productivity.
• Quality Control: Ensure the highest quality standards in all aspects of woodworking, from measuring to finishing the final product.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High Initiative: Self-motivated with a drive to learn, improve, and take on new challenges.
• Strong Math Skills: Comfortable with construction fractions, measurements, and basic math.
• Machinery Knowledge: Ability to learn how to operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
• Team Leadership: Ability to guide, motivate, and support other team members when needed.
• Problem Solving: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with materials, designs, or machinery.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in woodworking or construction.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Previous experience working with or directing teams in a shop environment.
