Job Description

Utilify Inc is hiring a Gas foreman to run a natural gas crew. We are a small but growing company specializing in the installation of gas and power utilities. A Natural Gas Foreman is responsible for the safe and productive layout, assembly, and installation of underground utilities and natural gas projects. This position works directly with our customers, will supervise a crew of 2-8 employees and manage the job site in accordance with the companies and customers policies.

Responsibilities

  • This position directly supervises a crew of 2-8 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the companies, and customers policies.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Prioritize and manage safety and quality expectations in the field
  • Supervise natural gas crew in the safe installation in all aspects of natural gas and other projects.
  • Read and interpret job site prints to understand the layout, sequencing, and method of pipe installations
  • Ensure crew maintains a safe work environment that complies with OSHA/OQ standards and enforce the company and customer safety policies.
  • Responsible for the overall quality of the finished product
  • Inspect work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to customer specifications
  • Responsible for adherence to established production rates and construction schedule
  • Operate assigned heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill utilities.
  • Conduct daily job site safety assessments
  • Lead, train, and mentor all employees
  • Properly follows all federal, state, and company environmental policies
  • Maintain all paperwork as directed including timesheets, safety reports, JSA's as-builts, and production reports
  • Secure work site at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and security of equipment and materials
  • Maintain professional attitude with owners, inspectors, public, and company personnel
  • Other responsibilities may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

• Must be 18 years or older

• Must be able to pass a drug test

• A minimum of 3 years experience supervising the installation of underground natural gas utilities as a foreman.

• Must be able to safely operating heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, etc.)

Must be efficient in the operation, safety, and maintenance of equipment being used.

• Must have or be able to obtain Class A CDL endorsement on top of your drivers license and DOT medical card, must have a clean driving record.

• Be able to acquire all the necessary Operator Qualifications through company provided DOT training.

• Be able to effectively use all hand tools and equipment associated with the work

• Ability to read and understand project drawings, specifications.

• Ability to recognize and react to unsafe or hazardous conditions on job site, and effectively mitigate the issues

• Ability to direct other employees work and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Problem solving abilities.

• Possess a strong sense of personal responsibility.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with other employees.

• Willing to work long hours including day, night, and some weekend shifts as needed.

• Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

• Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather, noise, vibrations, and other job hazards.
