Join a hardworking, safety-conscious crew on a fast-paced gillnetter as we harvest wild sockeye salmon in one of the most productive fisheries on the planet.
Job Title: Deckhand – Salmon Gillnetter
Location: Bristol Bay, Alaska
Season Duration: Mid-June to Late July (exact dates depend on run timing and weather)
Responsibilities:
• Set, haul, and stack gillnets in fast-paced conditions
• Clean and bleed salmon to quality standards
• Assist with boat maintenance, gear prep, and general deck duties
• Work long hours in variable weather — cold, wet, and often rough conditions
• Follow all safety protocols and take direction from the captain
Qualifications:
• Prior deckhand experience a plus, but not required
• Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset
• Must be drug-free and able to work long shifts with minimal sleep
• Able to live in close quarters for several weeks
Compensation: Crew share based on catch volume and performance. High earning potential depending on season success.
