We are seeking a skilled and creative filmmaker to capture compelling interviews for a documentary-style project. The project involves conducting single-day interview sessions with individuals about their life stories. Each session will require professional setup and operation of filming equipment, including two cameras, lighting, and sound recording devices. The filmmaker will collaborate with the project lead to design visually engaging shot compositions. Video editing is not required for this role.

• Set up, operate, and manage two professional-grade cameras to capture high-quality video footage during interview sessions.
• Configure and maintain appropriate lighting setups to ensure visually appealing and consistent interview footage.
• Set up and operate sound recording equipment (e.g., microphones, audio recorders) to capture clear, high-quality audio.
• Collaborate with the project lead to plan and execute creative shot compositions and framing for each interview.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, tested, and functioning before and during each shoot.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to cameras, lighting, or sound equipment as needed.

• Proven experience as a filmmaker, cinematographer, or videographer, with a portfolio showcasing interview or documentary-style work.
• Expertise in operating professional cameras and setting up multi-camera shoots.
• Strong knowledge of lighting techniques for interviews, including three-point lighting and natural light management.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating audio equipment, such as lavalier mics, shotgun mics, and audio recorders.
• Ability to collaborate creatively and contribute ideas for shot composition and visual storytelling.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure smooth shoot operations.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently within a single-day shooting schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ownership of professional filmmaking equipment (two cameras, lighting kits, and sound recording devices) is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with documentary-style interviewing techniques and framing.
• Experience working on projects with minimal crew, managing multiple technical aspects simultaneously.

Equipment:

• The filmmaker is expected to provide or source two professional cameras, lighting equipment, and sound recording devices. Ownership of this equipment is preferred but not mandatory.

Collaboration:

• The filmmaker will work closely with the project lead to brainstorm and implement creative ideas for shot setups, angles, and compositions that enhance the storytelling of each interview.

Project Details:
