JOB TITLE – Guest Relations Manager

DEPARTMENT – The Roof

REPORTS TO – FOH Manager/Restaurant Manager

 

SUMMARY 

The Guest Relations Manager is a proactive, hands-on leader responsible for overseeing our Hosts and Reservationists at the front of the house. This role ensures smooth reservation management, guest seating, and exceptional first impressions, setting the standard for outstanding guest experiences. In addition to day-to-day front desk operations, this position plays a vital role in managing private dining, chef’s table experiences, semi-private events, and buyouts. The ideal candidate is confident, service-driven, and highly organized, with experience coordinating upscale guest experiences and event logistics.

 

JOB ENVIRONMENT 

Works primarily indoors in a fast-paced, high-volume dining environment. Requires comfort working evenings, weekends, and holidays, often standing and moving throughout the host station, lobby, and event spaces. Frequent guest interaction, multitasking under pressure, and close collaboration with the events, service, and culinary teams are essential to success in this role.


SKILLS, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS 

•         Proven leadership experience in hospitality or guest services required

•         Strong ability to coach, train, and motivate front-of-house teams

•         Professional experience managing high-end private dining, group events, or VIP reservations

•         Familiarity with guest contracts, event timelines, and special service requirements for buyouts or chef-curated experiences

•         Skilled in reservation and event management systems (e.g., OpenTable, SevenRooms, Resy)

•         Strong attention to detail and guest preferences, with excellent communication and conflict resolution skills

•         Calm, organized, and adaptable under pressure

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

•         Lead and supervise Hosts and Reservationists, ensuring outstanding guest service at every point of contact

•         Manage the full reservation book, seating flow, and waitlist logistics; monitor daily pacing to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction

•         Serve as the primary liaison for private dining and semi-private events, managing inquiries and logistics from initial booking to day-of execution

•         Coordinate chef’s table experiences and buyouts, working cross-functionally with culinary and operations teams to ensure a seamless, elevated experience

•         Train front desk staff on handling special requests, VIP guests, and service nuances related to private events

•         Oversee cleanliness and organization of host areas and guest-facing event spaces

•         Monitor staffing needs, performance, and scheduling; assist with hiring, onboarding, and professional development


COMPENSATION

$55,000 - $60,000 annually. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS

•      May be required to work outside of regular business hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays, to accommodate business needs

•      Takes on additional duties as required or assigned by management
