Job Description

Vector is a defense technology company building advanced unmanned systems and training the operators who deploy them. We recently emerged from stealth and are scaling fast to meet mission-critical demand.

Our work supports military professionals in high-consequence environments. We take that seriously. We move fast, communicate clearly, and hold the line on quality.

We operate by three values:

  • Be Ethical: We work in a complex industry—never give anyone an opportunity to question our integrity. While we compete fiercely, we never break the law, violate regulations, or compromise our ethical standards.
  • Be Professional: We conduct ourselves with the highest standards of competence, responsibility, and respect in all interactions and tasks. Our customers look to us for the best training and equipment. We are the example for them.

  • Identify and execute improvements to manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for process optimization.
  • Conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis of quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Plan and conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes, products, and systems to ensure quality compliance.
  • Perform inspections and testing of raw materials, components, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test results, inspections, quality metrics, and corrective actions.
  • Provide training to manufacturing and production staff on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable industry standards, including ISO 9001 and/or AS9100.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to quality processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality and compliance of incoming materials and components.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, production, and procurement—to resolve quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing quality development, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Quality Control tools and techniques, including data analysis and defect tracking.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with mature design control processes, quality management systems, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Relevant certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma are beneficial.
  • Experience developing and implementing Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong skills in failure analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments to resolve complex quality issues.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers on quality assurance and incoming material inspection.
