Overview:

As a Field Service Technician, you are responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting industrial equipment, mechanisms, mechanical systems and hydraulic machinery, and providing information and recommending services to the general manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assess equipment and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues

• Liaise with leadership to determine their equipment requirements and communicate equipment and/or machinery defects or problems

• Provide routine inspections of equipment and machinery and inform leadership of any issues

• Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested

• Keep an accurate log of all work performed

• Maintain and clean bay equipment and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition

• Adhere to company work safety policies

Work Experience Requirements: 

Experience using and handling the necessary tools and machinery is highly valuable along with experience dealing with the following machinery:

• Backhoes

• Skip Loaders

• Front End Loaders

• Booms

• Scissors

• Truck Tractors, Water/Dump and Super Duty Trucks

Key Competencies:

• Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics

• Experience conducting routine services and equipment maintenance

• Demonstrated experience inspecting machinery for faults and repairs

• Practical knowledge of equipment and machinery diagnostic

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to prepare work estimates and quotes

• Sound problem-solving skills

• Completion of an apprenticeship is advantageous
