Salt Life Media is seeking an experienced journalist to join our growing team. We are interested in someone comfortable interviewing people in person and discovering great stories mostly for our flagship magazine/ website and podcast: Utah Stories.

This is not a position requiring much internet research but is moreover an opportunity to go out into communities and cover the most important things that are shaping their future. We operate in Sugar House, Ogden, Moab, Park City and downtown Salt Lake City.

Must be able to work within specific word count limitations and by our guidelines. Must be able to interview people and conduct research. Must be a self starter and ambitious to get to the heart of the issue we have assigned.

Proven track record of producing local journalism and proven ability to interview and find subjects who are subject matter experts in given topics we cover. A journalism background or degree is helpful. Three samples that demonstrate writing capability is required. 

Our offices are located in Holladay, Utah. We have monthly or quarterly meetings, but this position can be conducted remotely.
