Overview

The position of Human Resources Generalist performs HR duties for our company to maximize the strategic use of human resources and support functions such as employee recruitment, hiring, staffing, employee retention, administering personnel policies and helping to maintain compliance with state and federal employment regulations. While our base office is located in Mesa, Arizona, the position is 100% work-from-home.

Responsibilities

Recruitment, Hiring, Retention and Discharge:

  • Coordinate and support recruitment and hiring efforts including, but not limited to, identify candidate sources and actively recruit candidates, post job openings on various platforms, review and screen resumes and respond to applicant inquiries.
  • Help conduct virtual on-camera interviews and assess candidates (be able to evaluate candidates resume and experience to match up with company mission, culture, goals and structure considering candidates).  
  • Assist with internal hiring processes including, but not limited to, completing background and reference checks, preparing and sending offers of employment and employee onboarding. 
  • Work with human resource manager and other manager/executive team members as necessary to evaluate and create solutions in employee relations or disciplinary issues and to resolve employee concerns. 
  • Assist with the employee post-termination administration process.

Employee Policy and Benefits

  • Assist employees with medical benefits enrollment process and post termination cobra coverage.
  • Assist employees with understanding and utilizing company benefits (Vacation, Sick, FMLA, Paternity Leave, etc.)
  • Aid in compliance of federal and state regulations.

General Training and Compliance

  • Aid in preparation of team training materials under the direction of HR Manager and/or Director of Operations.
  • Help employees understand business priorities and objectives and provide guidance to employees and management/executive team on human resource related issues.
  • Promote a highly engaged, cooperative and productive work environment.
  • Assist with employee training, development, performance and retention.
  • Support new employees in training period with handbook questions and introduction to company policies.
  • Assist managers and assistant managers in continued development and understanding in the areas of employment law, performance managers and professional development.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering company policy and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Attend and participate interdepartmental meetings with operation team members, assistant managers, managers and executives as required.  
  • Quickly respond to time-sensitive matters/information.
  • Complete other assignments as requested and assigned by HR Manager and Executive Management.

Qualifications

  • MINIMUM 2 YR HR experience
  • Interviewing experience - you will conduct interviews weekly.
  • Applicants considered must maintain a high level of professionalism and uphold ethical standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Applicants should have some experience in hiring, in human resources or other business management related experience.
  • Must be able to lead and give direction to team members. 
  • Able to maintain professional boundaries at all times with candidates and company employees.
  • Highschool diploma required. 
  • Bachelor's degree or some education/coursework/experience in human resources and business-related fields REQUIRED.

We will provide training on our business model, culture, and current human resources and hiring structure.

Remote Work

We provide the following equipment: computer tower, two monitors, camera, and cables (considered company property during your employment with return to Unitas upon ending of employment). You will need a comfortable workspace and a strong, reliable internet connection. Remote to us means that while your office is at home, when clocked in, we require that you are able to have a quiet, professional workspace, free of distractions and background noise. This also means that while clocked in, employees are also not working other jobs or are primary caregivers. Employees who live in Arizona have the option of working in-office/hybrid.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $22/hour or $45,700 annual
  • 15 days paid vacation, accrued
  • Generous Paid holidays: MLK Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day/day after, Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day!
  • 100% Employer paid Medical Insurance Benefits (Cigna PPO, eligible between 60-90 days of successful employment), plus paid life insurance policy and option to pay for discounted dental, vision, life coverage and/or additional family members
