Position Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic assists with preventative maintenance and repairs of diesel equipment in the field and at Condie Construction’s in-house shop. The Mechanic conducts machine set-up, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance service under the direction of the Shop Foreman. The Mechanic is responsible for hand tools and small equipment. Welding skills preferred, but not required. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Preparing and setting up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Performing mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
• Winterization, greasing, and possibly fueling of equipment.
• Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Complying with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Performing other work-related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two or more years of related experience with heavy equipment maintenance
