This individual will be primarily responsible for setup and completion of drilling various sized underground bore holes and pulling back required conduit/pipe. As a Directional Driller/Equipment Operator, you are responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment; Ditch Witch Directional Drill, Ditch Witch Vac. Truck, Mud Truck, Excavator, Locator, along with others not listed. Directional Drill Operator experience REQUIRED.

Our shop is located in Ogden, but most work is in Utah County so we're open to your location being anywhere in between. Must have own transportation to get to/from job site or meeting spot if not in Ogden.

• Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities. 
• Operate Horizontal Directional Drill 
• Assist in potholing and remediation. 
• Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins. 
• Ability to Read and Comprehend utility locates. 
• Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding the machine. 
• Ability to properly formulate and mix drilling mud for the site conditions. 
• Ability to perform proper reaming and pull back methods for existing conditions. 
• Oversee laborers and/or crew members work and monitor time usage. 
• Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required reports, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment. 
• Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required reports (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, crew time logs etc.) 
• Follows specifications for the job and company policies. 
• Complies with safety procedures on and off the project site. 
• Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work. 

• Knowledge of established Horizontal/Directional Drill Locator/ Operator procedures and techniques 
• Ability to perform Horizontal/Directional Drill Locator/ Operator procedures and duties. 
• Ability to travel. 
• Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position. 
• A good driving record is required. 
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner. 
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License is a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc. 
• Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
