You will be responsible for executing painting projects from start to finish with precision, ensuring that all work meets RP Painting’s high standards for quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Now Hiring: Experienced Commercial Painter

Location: Draper, Utah | Full-Time | Local Travel Required

We’re looking for a skilled, reliable commercial painter to join our team. If you take pride in your work, stay on schedule, and know how to handle a brush, roller, or spray gun — we want to hear from you.

We’re a tight-knit crew that values quality work and a solid team dynamic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prep interior and exterior surfaces (cleaning, sanding, patching, priming)
  • Apply commercial-grade paints and coatings (acrylic, epoxy, DTM, etc.)
  • Work cleanly and efficiently using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
  • Choose appropriate materials, manage inventory, and minimize waste
  • Stick to timelines and coordinate with other trades when needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean job site
  • Communicate clearly with team leads and occasionally with clients
  • Help train less-experienced painters when asked
  • Solve problems on the job without slowing down the project
  • Travel to job sites as needed (reliable transportation required)

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of commercial painting experience
  • Familiarity with a range of coatings and surface types
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Comfortable with occasional overnight travel

Qualifications

1. Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in commercial painting or a related field, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Extensive experience in painting a variety of surfaces, including drywall, wood, metal, masonry, and concrete, in both interior and exterior environments.
  • Proven track record of working on large-scale commercial projects, such as office buildings, retail spaces, industrial sites, and multi-unit complexes.
  • Experience with both standard and specialty coatings (e.g., epoxy, polyurethane, anti-graffiti coatings, etc.).

2. Skills & Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge of painting techniques: Proficiency in brushing, rolling, and spray painting techniques, including the use of airless sprayers and other commercial-grade equipment.
  • Ability to properly prepare surfaces (sanding, cleaning, scraping, patching, priming) to ensure maximum paint adhesion and durability.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of paint types and coatings, including water-based, oil-based, and specialty coatings.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job specifications, and safety documentation for painting projects.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices, including safe handling of chemicals, hazardous materials, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to address unforeseen issues on the job site and offer practical, efficient solutions.

3. Certifications & Licenses:

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred but not required).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Painter’s Apprenticeship or Trade Certification is a plus but not required.
