IT Associate Director


Job Summary


Direct/Manage/Supervise the implementation and maintenance of the overall IT platform/infrastructure. Oversee multiple areas within information technology, such as computer hardware, server software, networking, telecommunications, computer support, database analysis, data security, etc. Ensure the stability, integrity, and operation of all systems, and oversee the monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing of all network software, hardware, and operating systems. Monitor the organization's operational requirements, research strategies and technology solutions, and build the most cost-effective and efficient system to achieve those goals. Oversee security solutions, including firewalls, antivirus, intrusion protection systems, disaster recovery, and back-up procedures. Lead the development of policies and procedures for computer systems operations and development. Third-level manager. Manages the activities of first-level and second-level managers and/or supervisors. Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.

This is an Associate Director-Level position in the Management track.


Responsibilities


• Oversee the day-to-day operations of four distinct IT service areas and their managers to include defining their budget, project and service priorities.


- Project Management Office (PMO)- Field Operations- Video Operations and Services- Application Engineering


• Lead and manage a team or teams of employees and UETN stakeholders to meet specific goals and objectives

• Develop, plan and implement strategies to meet organization goals and objectives in support of current services and in development of future opportunities

• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including employees, volunteers, LEAs, partners and vendors.

• Maintain technology focus and stay up-to-date on industry trends and identify opportunities and challenges facing the organization.

• Represent the organization at events, meetings and other activities

• Make decisions that affect the organization, our stakeholders and our operations.

• Interface with internal, stakeholder, public-sector and private-sector leadership.

• Analyze and resolve project management issues and needs in terms of project life cycle.

• Direct/Manage/Supervise the Project Management Office to ensure sufficient resources are assigned to meet department and stakeholder needs.

• Direct/Manage/Supervise Interactive Video Conference (IVC) department to ensure that sufficient resources are assigned to meet department and stakeholder needs.

• Direct/Manage/Supervise Application Engineering group to ensure that sufficient resources are assigned to meet department and stakeholder needs.

• Direct/Manage/Supervise Field Operations department to ensure that sufficient resources are assigned to meet department and stakeholder needs.

• Evaluate results within business unit to determine if organizational objectives are being met.

• Collaborate with other departments to prioritize project management, IVC and field operation needs including budgets, resources, and documenting new and existing efforts.

• Other duties as assigned

Preferences


Broad knowledge of the field with proven leadership skills.

Bachelor's + 10 years or a master's + 8 years of directly related work experience. Assumes work equivalency (1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience).
