Survey Crew Chief - In charge of operating independently or with a rodman for the purposes of data acquisition, boundary delineation, aerial mapping, laser scanning and construction staking.
Supervise and coordinate the work of field crews including technicians and assistants. Conduct surveys using total stations, GPS equipment, and other modern surveying tools. Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and other land survey tasks as required. Prepare accurate sketches and notes for all surveyed areas. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to land surveying practices. Maintain detailed records of field work and submit reports to the project manager.
Train new crew members on survey techniques and equipment usage.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during surveys in a timely manner.
Coordinate with clients, engineers, architects, and other professionals as needed.
Must be willing to work over time and occasionally travel out of state for 3 to 7 days at a time. Out of town bonuses do apply and can be discussed with either a phone call or during an interview. Must be willing to travel up to 60% of the time.
Position requires 3+ years of experience as a crew chief. Proficient in using GPS equipment, total stations, and other modern surveying tools.
Strong understanding of legal requirements and best practices related to land surveying. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maps, and legal documents accurately. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and travel to multiple job sites as needed.
Upon being hired you will have to complete OSHA 10 and CPR Certification Training and must either have a Part 107-C Drone pilots license or are capable of obtaining said license with in 45 days. (Company paid for of course)
Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a drug test at all times.
