Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Snowbird is situated in the middle of the Wasatch Mountain Range and is not only home to awe-inspiring views and mighty terrain, it is also home to employees equally as remarkable. Snowbird is continually looking for the best, those who share a passion for these mountains and the outdoors. Snowbird is a unique resort with distinct summer and winter seasons and offers full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.
TITLE: Cook 2 - Line Cook
LOCATION: Summit at Hidden Peak
STATUS: Full time - year round. Pay is $21.00/hr
SCHEDULE: Day and Evening Shifts available - 5 days/week
  • Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays .
Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Cook 2 at the Summit Restaurant located at the Summit at Hidden Peak. As a crucial member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing food to the highest standards by following standard operation procedures and recipes set by the Executive Chef. Ensuring that food is fresh, presentable and interacting with customers in our open kitchen. Maintaining the highest level of sanitation, cleanliness, organization, prep levels, and product quality of your station. This position is at 11,000ft at the top of the Snowbird Tram and can present unique challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Prep station to levels and standards as is set by Executive Chef and in accordance with restaurant guidelines.
  • Own station: anticipate its needs, keep organized, keep fresh, work with a sense of urgency.
  • Assist in creation of Daily Chef's Corner special dish.
  • Follow sanitation policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Assist in preparation and execution of afterhours catered events. Buffets, plate ups and stations.
  • Dispose of trash, recycling, broken glassware and fryer oil in accordance with restaurant guidelines.
  • Break down and clean front line and kitchen in accordance with restaurant guidelines daily in a timely manner.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
  • Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role preferred.
  • State of Utah Food Handler's Permit.
  • Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed.
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness regarding hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 30 pounds) and withstand long hours on your feet.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • F lexibility to work around road closures, interlodges, tram closures, and other unforeseen obstacles that come with working at 11'000ft.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence
  • Food Handler Permit
  • Knowledge of kitchen health and safety rules
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
  • Great listening and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to travel to Snowbird Resort
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Schedule is based on business levels, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, on occasional times of road closures
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Travel to Snowbird Resort
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Fast-paced and high energy work environment
  • Must take Tram to restaurant
