Job Description

Our Facility Leads (Maintenance Managers) ensure that guests have a great experience because the facilities are in proper working order and so is our equipment used by our staff . They are responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks and repairs for their assigned facilities and equipment. The assigned facilities are throughout a district (listed below) and the tasks and repairs are related to the sites, restrooms, buildings, water systems, trees and vegetation, and other amenities (e.g. gates, signs, information boards, etc.). Tasks and repairs typically are in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.).

The assigned equipment is that equipment used by staff throughout a district and the tasks and repairs are related to the vehicles, tools, and landscaping equipment. Tasks and repairs typically are in one or more fields (e.g. small engines, landscaping tools and equipment, golf carts, vehicle preventative maintenance, etc.). Facility Leads assist with preparing facilities to open at the beginning of the season, as well as shutting down facilities at the end of season. Small projects that replace or extend the life of a facility's asset will be as assigned.

Responsibilities

THE DUTIES

  • Do pre-season inspections of campgrounds and facilities for maintenance needs.
  • Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment, facilities, and campgrounds.
  • Responsible to track routine maintenance (oil changes, etc.) on all equipment including company vehicles, golf carts, Gators, small engines.
  • Change light bulbs – interior and exterior as needed.
  • Use chainsaws, mowers, weed eaters, power sprayers, blowers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Oversee all GT projects in the District.
  • Manage the inventory of the company’s tools and equipment.
  • Implement a tracking system to be sure that all maintenance items are taken care of.
  • Regularly communication with district manager to determine maintenance needs.
  • Report equipment use concerns to the District manager.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Have superior Customer Service Skills
  • Ability defuse/de-escalate a tense situation between parties. Conflict resolution experience would be very helpful.
  • Ability to push/lift 30 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to bend at the waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures.
  • Ability to work in high noise level areas requiring hearing protection.
  • Ability to work around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints and other materials as the job requires.
  • Facility Leads need to be physically able to perform these and other tasks as require.

Anticipated Weekly Hours and approximate seasonal employment dates are listed below. Weather, conditions and closures may affect this schedule as well as final job assignments. The manager will contact hosts with updates to the employment schedule.

  • Anticipated Weekly Hours are: 40 hrs./ week.
  • Anticipated Schedule is May 10 - Oct 3

LOCATION

The Dixie National Forest spans almost 2 million acres and stretches for about 170 miles across southern Utah. The area we operate in is northeast of St. George, UT near Cedar City, UT and then due east. Some may be familiar with the Cedar Breaks National Monument and this area surrounds the monument and is just east of that location.
