Job Description

Job Summary:

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to established recipes and quality standards in a fast-paced taco shop environment. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 


  • Food Preparation:Prepare and cook a variety of taco fillings, including meats, vegetables, and sauces.
  • Prepare and maintain fresh ingredients, such as salsas, guacamole, and other toppings.
  • Ensure proper portion control and presentation of all food items. 
  • Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately.
  • Kitchen Operations:Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and supplies. 
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, and other cooking appliances. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. 
  • Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper food storage. 
  • Work efficiently during peak hours to meet customer demand. 
  • Teamwork and Communication:Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations. 
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. 
  • Assist with other kitchen duties as needed.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation:Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations. 
  • Practice proper hygiene and handwashing techniques.
  • Ensure that all food items are handled and stored safely.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar food service role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Food handler's certification (may be required).
