Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Surface Grinder Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining surface grinding machines to produce precision metal parts and components. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate surface grinding machines to produce precision parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
• Select appropriate fixturing, tools, and equipment for each job.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of grinding machines.
• Inspect finished products using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to meet production goals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Technical or Trade School preferred).
• Proven experience as a Surface Grinder Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of grinding wheel selection, feeds, and speeds.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety protocols.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials up to 50lbs as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in machining or metalworking.
• Experience with CNC grinding machines.
• Knowledge of different metals and grinding techniques.
• Willing to train new employees
