SUMMARY:
The Shipping Associate is responsible for shipping customer orders, processing paperwork for accounting, and checking up on orders that are due to ship. This position assists in maintaining an accurate inventory control and will be asked to assist with periodic inventory cycle counts. This position is also responsible for washing parts that come off the shop floor prior to stocking and/or shipping.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Shipping Associate must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and will be required to work under minimal supervision
• Uses ERP System transactions to move parts in the workflow
• Detail oriented, with good organization skills and ability to multi-task
• Processes paperwork for parts shipping from stock
• Securely wrap and package parts for transport
• Pick list verification of part numbers and quantity count
• Complete the washing operation for work orders per the scheduled due date
• Aids on inventory accuracy duties; performs cycle counts on a periodic basis
• Maintains a clean and organized work area and makes sure the shipping tasks are completed timely
• Observes all safety regulations; advises Supervisor of required maintenance or safety hazards that exist
• Use forklift for inbound/outbound shipments
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds
• Able to work quickly and carefully simultaneously, all while handling parts with extreme care
• Trouble shoot shipping issues
• Other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must possess a minimum of a High school diploma or GED
• Must have at least 2 years of experience working in shipping, supply chain, warehousing and/or material/ inventory control capacity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Training or education in supply chain or inventory control is a plus
• Flexibility to support other areas of the stockroom when needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner with other functions and foster teamwork.
• Ability to participate/lead in problem solving activities, pro-actively suggest improvements, and to meet deadlines.
• Ability to perform a sequence of operations with minimal supervision and/or independently.
• Ability to be flexible to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and handle stressful situations.
• Have a professional aptitude and ability to represent Company in a professional manner.
• Forklift Certified or willing to be certified.
• Minimal carpentry skills (screw gun, pry bar & hammer.
• Cooperative / flexible attitude.
• Experience with blueprints or other material documents
