JOB TITLE – Line Cook
DEPARTMENT – Culinary – The Garden
REPORTS TO – Kitchen Manager/Assistant Manager
SUMMARY
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items to ensure the highest quality and consistency for guests at The Garden restaurant. This role involves working closely with the kitchen team to execute menu items, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to food safety standards. The Line Cook will also assist in inventory management and contribute to a positive kitchen environment.
JOB ENVIRONMENT
Works primarily indoors in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment. Must be comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate restaurant hours. Works with a variety of kitchen equipment and interacts with kitchen staff regularly.
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Proven experience as a line cook or similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a high-volume restaurant
· Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food safety regulations
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
· Adherence to a professional appearance, hygiene standards, and company dress and grooming policy
· Previous experience with inventory management is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Prepares and cooks food items according to recipes and quality standards
· Maintains cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas
· Ensures adherence to all health and safety regulations
· Assists with inventory management and ordering supplies to ensure adequate stock levels
· Communicates effectively with kitchen staff and management to ensure seamless operations
· Performs other duties as assigned by management
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
$16.00/hr - $20.00/hr. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
