This role will play a crucial role in managing our databases, understanding and developing queries to provide critical business data, automating reporting processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our production systems. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow in both database administration and DevOps. You will gain hands-on experience managing databases, optimizing system performance, and leveraging automation tools to streamline reporting and monitoring.

Database Management & Reporting

• Learn, maintain, and manage Troomi’s databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and scripts for data extraction and automation.
• Generate reports and automate key performance indicators (KPIs) for operations and executives.
• Work with internal teams to provide data insights and support operational decision-making.

DevOps & System Monitoring

• Manage and configure Troomi’s production servers using Linode.
• Utilize tools like Datadog and Jmeter to monitor system performance, troubleshoot, and provide trouble alerts.
• Monitor and optimize infrastructure to ensure uptime, security, and reliability.
• Implement automation to streamline server management and deployment processes.

Additional Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and operations to ensure smooth system operations.
• Assist with system backups, updates, and troubleshooting as required.
• Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in database administration and DevOps methodologies.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong SQL and scripting skills.
• 1–2 years of experience in database administration, DevOps, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with Linux-based server management (experience with Linode is a plus).
• Experience or strong interest in DevOps tools such as Datadog and JMeter.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, system monitoring, and automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work collaboratively.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow into a full-fledged DBA & DevOps engineer.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with KPI dashboards and automated reporting tools.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of security best practices for database and server management.
• Familiarity with API integrations and data pipelines.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
