We perform construction contract work and service calls in commercial buildings including several local hospitals, financial institutions, office buildings, health clinics, and tele-com/data-phone company buildings. We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Foreman to run our medium to large ($100k-$3M) plumbing and pipefitting contract construction projects. Several projects are remodels inside hospitals. These facilities have standards and protocols that must be followed. This is a full-time permanent spot on our team. This position requires a competent level of experience in field activities, communication skills, coordination, project documentation, and accountability. As the company’s field representative, the foreman is expected to make certain the project is executed safely, all work performed by our journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors meets quality standards, protect our integrity by doing the right thing even when nobody will notice, and meet the expectations of value set by our fair pricing.
Requirements and Expectations:
· Act as a Competent Person (as defined by OSHA)
· Enforce our safety policy and lead by example
· Complete a JHA and daily pre-task planning
· Practice good housekeeping on all jobsites
· Quality Control of our work and our subs’ work
· Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, codes, shop drawings, submittals, and specifications
· Create isometrics, drawings, and sketches on paper and digital devices
· Markup digital documents, save and organize documents
· Review job estimates and take-offs for completeness
· Perform layout of walls, gridlines, penetrations, hangers, piping, and fixtures
· Review a schedule and provide updates with identified constraints
· Coordinate manpower loading, tools, equipment, materials, deliveries, subcontractors, sequence of operations, inspections, commissioning, and closeout procedures
· Identify materials needed, order and expedite them to the jobsite
· Understand BIM process and participate in field adoption
· Plan daily work objectives and hold responsible parties accountable to production goals
· Two-week lookahead planning
· Understand contract scope and deliver
· Identify potential change orders and work with PM to capture increases to scope
· Identify and write RFIs
· Complete Daily Reports on a tablet
· Attend site coordination meetings, participate in discussions, take notes, and execute plans
· Read a punch list, track, complete, and closeout punch items
· Provide leadership, guidance, and support to crew members
· Instill confidence in crew and trade partners
· Find and provide answers for crew members and customers
· Maintain company tools, trucks, and equipment
· Work intermittent nights and/or weekends for shutdowns, tie ins, and work in finished spaces
· Be able to work with tools when a project requires a smaller crew size
· Be able to refrain from working with tools when a project requires a large crew size
· Make sure projects are done safe, done right, and profitable
· Maintain and improve the company’s reputation
· Competency with the following types of piping systems
o Drain, Waste, Vent
o Domestic water
o Hydronics (Heating and Chilled)
o Medical Gas
Qualifications:
· Professional communication skills for in person and email
· Journeyman or Master Plumbing License in the State of Utah
· ASSE 6010 Installer for medical gas (need to have this or be able to obtain it)
· Minimum 5 years experience plumbing and pipefitting
· Minimum 2 years experience with leadership role in the plumbing industry
· Experience working in hospitals is desired
· Valid Driver’s license with insurable driving record
· Pass background check and drug screening
· MUST have communication skills
