About HD Build

HD Build is a fast-paced subcontracting company specializing in metal framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, insulation, and painting. We take pride in delivering high-quality work across Utah and out-of-state, including significant projects for the LDS Church. We are seeking a motivated and organized Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our project managers and field teams in delivering successful projects on time and within budget.

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) works closely with the Project Manager to oversee all aspects of commercial construction projects, including scheduling, documentation, communication, and coordination. This is a growth-oriented position for someone looking to advance in construction project management.

Responsibilities

- Assist Project Manager in day-to-day operations of multiple commercial construction projects

- Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and equipment rentals according to the project schedule

- Support job setup including permits, submittals, RFIs, and reviewing plans/specs

- Help manage project documentation: daily logs, change orders, timecards, and subcontractor paperwork

- Communicate effectively with foremen, general contractors, vendors, and clients

- Assist with scheduling crews and ensuring manpower aligns with the work scope

- Help track project progress and budgets using internal tools and project management software

- Perform site visits and support jobsite walkthroughs when needed

- Maintain updated records in Buildertrend or other PM platforms

- Learn HD Build standards and help reinforce them in the field

- Jump into problem-solve issues and keep things moving forward

Qualifications

- 1-3 years of construction experience, preferably commercial or subcontractor-focused

- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to read blueprints and construction documents

- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive) and/or Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

- Experience with project management software (Buildertrend is a plus)

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

- Driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional jobsite travel
