Position Overview

KSL TV is pleased to announce the availability of a paid internship for Summer 2025. We are looking for students who are interested in a paid learning opportunity where they can extend their broadcasting education beyond the classroom.

This KSL TV internship is designed to provide students with a strong interest in broadcast journalism an opportunity to gain an insight into the operation of professional news production.

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

• This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Salt Lake City site.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist Producers in writing daily newscast
• Helping with Assignment Desk tasks
• Helping log interviews

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Organized, able to meet deadlines and be a self-starter. Proven ability to be precise and accurate.
• Good writing, production and conversational skills to transmit information clearly and efficiently.
• Proven ability to handle stress.
• Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients. 
• Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
• Final discretion as to assignments while participating in the internship program will remain with KSL.
• Persons participating in the KSL TV internship needs to understand that no guarantees are given for future employment. KSL may terminate internship at any time.
• Final selection of a KSL intern from among those expressing interest rests with KSL.
• Other duties as assigned
• The internship will cover a semester/term period of approximately twenty (20) hours per week up to 150 hours per term, with a schedule to be arranged by the intern and the hiring manager.

Physical Demands

• Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
• Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation

 $15.00 per hour.
