Position Overview

We’re looking for an organized, energetic podcast producer to assist in the production of news and documentary podcasts like COLD. You’ll have the chance to contribute to the continuation of existing products and work on the launch of KSL Podcasts. We need a passionate, focused and driven storyteller with excellent technical skills to support the fulfillment of one-of-a-kind podcasts.

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

  • This position is an hybrid role that requires the employee to sometimes work at our Salt Lake City site. Specific hybrid schedules will be determined based on business needs and evaluated by managers and senior management.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, write, record and edit podcast episodes
  • Shoot/edit video for podcast episodes
  • Post and provide analytics for podcast episodes
  • Provide support on social media
  • Work in accordance with reporting best practices and journalistic standard
  • Work effectively in a team, deadline-driven environment
  • Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients
  • Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

  • College degree in journalism or related field
  • Two (2) years’ journalism experience or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent research skills; ability to identify, validate and compile information from various sources
  • Ability to generate highly creative, compelling content for multi-platform distribution
  • Possess recording expertise in both studio and field environments
  • Strong understanding of the current digital and social media landscape, including creating content for Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other platforms, best practices, success metrics and emerging platforms
  • Ability to write clear, concise, conversational and accurate copy
  • Audio recording and editing experience
  • Expertise using social media platforms to curate and promote content
  • Experience with Adobe Creative / Microsoft Office
  • Prior experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipment
  • Ability to produce content efficiently and concisely under deadline pressure and to manage stress effectively.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and work with minimum supervision.
  • Strong self-motivation, well organized, and dependable.

Physical Demands

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation

$18.50 - $27.80. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
