Job Summary/Basic Function:
The WSU Online Instructional Designer is responsible for assisting faculty members in all aspects of online education, including instructional design and working with technology.
Please note that this position is dependent on grant funding and may be reevaluated in 2029.
Required Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or related field (or within two semesters of graduation)
• Professional experience consulting with subject matter experts (for example faculty or business clients).
• Experience with using HTML editing tools, Microsoft Office applications (or equivalent), multimedia authoring tools, and learning (or course) management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred:
• Masters Degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or related field
• Excellent working knowledge of adult learning theory.
• Demonstrated ability to apply learning and instructional theory in practical settings.
• Working familiarity with online learning tools, the Internet, electronic communications, and e-authoring tools.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Proven ability to creatively solve problems.
• Experience leading course design projects in a collaborative environment.
• Familiarity and experience with the complexities of teaching and learning in a higher-education environment.
