JOB TITLE – Cashier
DEPARTMENT – The Garden Restaurant at Temple Square
REPORTS TO – Kitchen Manager/Assistant Manager
SUMMARY
The Cashier provides outstanding customer service while efficiently handling cash register operations, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and ensuring supplies are fully stocked. This role is essential to the guest experience and requires great customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred
· Prior experience in a guest-facing or food service role is a plus
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in spoken English
· Basic understanding of sanitation, food handling, and workplace safety regulations
· Ability to operate a cash register and handle financial transactions accurately
· Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction
· Must be a team player with the ability to multitask in a high-volume setting
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Greet and assist guests with a friendly and helpful attitude
· Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently, processing cash and card payments in compliance with company policy
· Provide knowledgeable and courteous service, assisting with menu questions and suggesting items to enhance the guest experience
· Support the kitchen team by communicating guest needs and maintaining service flow
· Restock supplies, utensils, and condiments as needed throughout the shift
· Communicate any guest concerns or issues to management in a timely and respectful manner
· Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by leadership
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
$17.00/hr. - $18.00/hr. This range is inclusive of multiple job levels. Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
