Automotive Outreach Coordinator

Job Summary/Basic Function:


Automotive Technology Department Outreach Coordinator. The coordinator will represent WSU automotive by connecting with high school automotive programs throughout the state. The coordinator will help facilitate the completion of continuing education courses at the high school level. Aiding students in the transition from high school to WSU will be an important job responsibility. The coordinator will participate in the industry advisory board meeting for Ogden, Weber, and Davis school districts.


The coordinator will also work as a liaison between students and automotive repair facilities. This will include both independent shops, franchises, and dealership groups.


The coordinator will assist with outreach events for the recruitment of students to the program. The coordinator will play a key role in the annual high school automotive competition. There are various other related activities both on campus, at high schools, and at industry partners’ sites that may also be included in the duties of the coordinator.


10-month position 


Required Qualifications:


Required: 


• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience

• 1 year of full-time related experience

• Customer Service experience

• Professional event planning experience


Preferred Qualifications:


Preferred: 


• Bachelor Degree related to Outreach

• Experience in the automotive service industry

• Public Relations experience

The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position: None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
