As Accounting Assistant, you are primarily responsible for receiving, coding, and processing invoices in an accurate and timely manner.  This is a critical role in accounting and impeccable detail and accuracy is paramount.  

Responsibilities Include (and not limited to):

• Primarily, receiving, coding, and processing invoices in an accurate and timely manner
• Coordinate approval of invoices with Construction Managers, Drafting Team and department supervisors as well as organization and processing of credit card receipts
• Review AP report for weekly payments
• Prepare and post invoices for weekly and bi-weekly check runs
• Interact with vendors and departments to resolve invoicing/check issues
• Resolve issues with processes through continual improvement and innovation
• Special projects, reports or tasks as assigned
• Reconcile Accounts Payable account monthly
• Utilize Sage 300 accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports
• Coordinate with and prepare reports for upper management
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing accounting related tasks as needed

Accounting Assistant Qualifications/Skills:

• Proficient in data entry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional and friendly demeanor
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent critical thinking, multitasking, and organization skills
• Excellent Excel and math skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Sage 300 (Timberline) Software
• Prior experience in the Home Building Industry and job costing
• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
