The RN is a professional who manages and directs integrative nursing care of clients with mental health diagnosis such as: substance use disorders, co-occurring diagnoses, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety and others, as well as medical conditions. The nurse uses skills of assessment, planning, documenting and evaluating treatment of clients alongside the multidisciplinary team of providers. The RN will provide cross coverage between both of the inpatient residential settings and outpatient facility. The RN is responsible for providing a safe and therapeutic environment. The RN will collaborate with the medical, psychiatric and residential staff to ensure all medical needs are addressed for clients, and act as a liaison to the clients' families and loved ones.

• Completes assessment and plan of care on assigned clients and provides individualized nursing care.
• Conducts ongoing reassessments to evaluate change of clients’ status.
• Monitors recovery process and related medical, physical, and psychological concerns.
• Promotes and provides medical education to clients, including family members when feasible and appropriate based on the client’s treatment plan.
• Seeks to continuously improve work processes & systems and offers suggestions for the improvement of client care.
• Is proactive in identifying potential crisis situations and responds appropriately in emergency situations
• Acts as a preceptor/mentor to newer staff and/or clients.
• Administers medications as prescribed; serves as a resource for knowledge of medication uses, side effects, and dosage; checks for proper medication order; documents medications according to company policy. 
• Assists medical and psychiatric providers in providing services to clients. 
• Attends weekly treatment team meetings as well as conducts training during scheduled staff meetings.
• Provides regular and effective communication with medical and psychiatric providers and provides education to the rest of the Corner Canyon team.
• Aids in prior-authorizations for medications.
• Provides phlebotomy services for clients and coordinates pickup with the lab.
• Coordinates care with internal and external providers.
• Aids in overseeing the management of the medical room, ensuring best practices are maintained. 
• Ensures proper documentation of client medication, interactions, and nursing services.
• Prepare and teach weekly group, as directed (i.e. ADL, Smoking Cessation, Sleep Hygiene, Nutrition, Med Management, etc..)
• Provides education/communication to appropriate parties on medical interventions being utilized.
• Will engage in an on-call emergency system and will take turns for after hours calls.
• Travel between locations to provide services at each site, current range of 1.5 miles.

• BLS Certification 
• RN License in Utah with good standing 
• Must have a valid, unrestricted, state-appropriate driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance.
• Satisfactory criminal background check through DHHS and acceptable motor vehicle report
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening

Previous experience with psychiatric or mental health care preferred
